B.Mac Music announces the publication of four brand new works arranged for tuba and piano by Cherry Beauregard.

The works include the full set of three Sonatas for Viola da Gamba by J.S. Bach (BWV 1027-1029) and the C.P.E. Bach Sonata for Viola da Gamba in D Major, Wq137 H559.

Each of these sonatas is unique and fills a much-needed gap in the Baroque tuba transcription repertoire. While similar sonatas from Marcello and Vivaldi have been available to tubists for several years, original works from the Bach family have been scarce. These new transcriptions have been expertly realized for tuba by Cherry Beauregard, longtime professor of tuba at the Eastman School of Music.

The range works equally well on either bass or contrabass tuba, and each work is extremely musically satisfying to practice and perform.
